We had a perfect beach vacation at Koh Samui— it was idyllic, serene and so peaceful. The post covid crowds had not returned yet so we felt relaxed. The coast is beautiful and there are plenty of nice cafes.
We stayed for 3 nights in Bangrak at the very beautiful Erawan Villas and a night at Sea dance resort near Cheong mon. I enjoyed Bangrak a lot more because villas there are more reasonably priced, lots of cafes nearby, and easy access to tuk tuks for travelling to other parts of the island. There are convenience stores nearby as well and the best spa centre was right next door. However, if being on a secluded resort is your jam then you are better off choosing other places on the island.

We spent a day at the Angthong National Marine Park, as part of a small group tour organised by 100 Degrees East. It was a fabulous experience. We did snorkelling, kayaking and hiking at the park. The day was full of amazing views and great information by our guides. I am not a strong swimmer but the team was super helpful during snorkelling. We saw a great variety of fishes, corals and other sea creatures. We had lunch at a beautiful secluded beach where there were no other boats. Overall, it was a really special experience and the service quality was exceptional.

We indulged in slow living during the rest of our stay which means we explored cafes and restaurants, relaxed by the pool/beach with a book, soaked in the sun and got massages.

This was my birthday trip and my dear husband had organised an amazing dinner at Coco Tam’s by the sea. They have a superb fire show in the evening and overall the vibe is pretty cool.
For breakfast, we really liked Cafe K.O.B by the sea and Bangrak cafe. For lunch/dinner we tried Green leaf and Yui’s, both of which served delicious Thai food. The restaurant at Sea Dance resort was also very nice!
