I typically don’t write accommodation review posts but this one truly deserves it. Nestled amid lush green hills and fields and tucked away in a quiet corner not too far from Chiang Mai City, Three Kings Luxury Private Villa is probably the best accommodation I have stayed in so far. The Villa is just gorgeous with 5 bedrooms, a big garden, pool and lots of common areas. It was perfect for our group of 13– 5 couples and 3 kids. We paid 370 SGD for a 3 night stay per couple and I felt it was a really good deal. Moreover, Roger and Nooch were very gracious hosts and could not have done more to make us feel special.

Rooms: There are two bedrooms, a kitchen, living and dining area on the ground floor. On the upper level there are three bedrooms and a common area. The bedrooms have king sized beds except the smaller one on the upper level which has queen sized bed. However, the smaller room (where I stayed with my husband) has a nice wardrobe, a safe and a cool view of the pool and hills beyond. Both bedrooms on the ground level have attached washrooms. The master bedroom on the upper level also has an attached bathroom with a huge bath tub and a great view of the fields and the hills. Loved looking at the scenery in the mirror while taking a shower! The other two bedrooms on the upper level have a shared bathroom in the common area. The bathrooms are well equipped with amenities. The entire Villa has loads of natural sunlight coming in which is amazing!

It is pretty evident that the Villa has been built with a lot of love and care. The best quality fittings have been installed in the bathrooms and high end appliances i.e. fridge, TV etc. are there. Roger and Nooch lived here for a long time and now also they rent it out only a few times during the month! So glad they decided to do so otherwise, would have never gotten a chance to stay at their beautiful nest.
Pool and Surroundings: The pool area is especially picturesque with a view of the hills and the garden. The garden is huge and ideal for yoga/games/kids running around. The backyard has a view of the fields where you can see cow grazing in the morning and a beautiful sunset in the evening. The kids (and adults) played cricket on the grounds almost everyday. There is a basketball court as well and Roger provided us with basket balls.

Food: Breakfast was included in our villa rate and it was a fabulous spread. There were cereals, milk, fruits, bread with jams/butter and eggs and pancakes made to order. My favourite were the banana pancakes– fluffy and light, absolutely delicious. We had most of our other meals also at the Villa and it was great. Really enjoyed the traditional Thai food especially the mango with sticky rice, steamed fish and the Thai curries. You can specify what you want to eat but please do so well in advance so that they can shop for the ingredients and you can also specify the spice level (Thai food is traditionally spicy!). The food at the Villa was affordable as well. Apart from this, Roger helped us get anything we wanted– soft drinks, ice cream, medicines etc.

Services: What’s a trip to Thailand without relaxing your muscles to a Thai massage right? Roger arranged massages for us as well. We had to let him know in advance because he picked up and dropped the masseurs from a nearby village. The rates were 300 THB for traditional Thai and 450 THB for oil massage. It is slightly more expensive than what you will pay in the city but the services are being delivered to your room and I felt it is a reasonable premium for that luxury. I loved the massage and my preference is always the oil one. My plan was to get one everyday but pulled a muscle on the 2nd day–Bummer!

Roger also helped us book trips to the elephant sanctuary, the long-neck tribal village, Doi Suthep, city and airport transfers. He also took us to a small trek to the nearby national park and showed us the agricultural university!

We had a great time at the Villa and really felt like royalty. Everything was made so convenient by Roger and Nooch. We did not have to worry about anything. I truly wish to go back there someday and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t repeat accommodations!! Big thank you to our hosts, Roger and Nooch, for being the best hosts ever!
